ABSTRACT. This article is based primarily on the field materials collected in the spring of 2018 in the Romanian (Vlach) village of Shipikovo belonging to the community and district of Zaechar in Eastern Serbia. This village is dominated by the Tsaran (Olten) subdialect of the Romanian language, as it is in the majority of R omanian-speaking settlements found in the historical districts of Kraina and Kluch (the communities of Zaechar, Negotin and Kladovo). As the comparative material for the vocabulary of Romanian subdialect of Eastern Serbia the authors used dictionaries created by the local scholars Paun Durlich and Lubisha lu Bozha Kichi. Besides that, in preparation of the article we involved modern Romanian etymological and definition dictionaries. The article is devoted to the everyday life vocabulary of local population. The notion of “everyday life vocabulary” includes several thematic groups, in particular, pieces of furniture, clothes, agricultural equipment, animal husbandry objects, etc. We focus only on one of them, which is furniture names. The list of lexical elements related to this thematic group is not complete. The article discusses primarily those objects which authors succeeded to see in the houses of locals (many of the terms are being lost from the language, since the objects they refer to are not used in everyday life anymore).

KEYWORDS: Vlachs, Romanians, Eastern Serbia, everyday life vocabulary , furniture
