ABSTRACT. The article describes the main academic and museum events of the MAE RAS (Kunstkamera) in the anniversary year 2019. The MAE RAS hosted not only traditional academic conferences (Radlovsky, Kunerovsky, Lavrovsky and Maklaevsky readings, “Jewish Diasporas in Europe and Worldwide”), but also new ones. For the first time the scholars of the MAE RAS acted as a big close-knit team at two major ethnographic and anthropological meetings of the year. In July, substantive academic forces of the Kunstkamera landed in Kazan, at the XIII Congress of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia. In late August 2019, the delegation of Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences became one of the largest Russian delegations at the Congress of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES) 2019, which took place in Poznan (Poland). The museum life of the MAE RAS in 2019 was no less intense: temporary exhibitions, the Museum Night, participation in cultural programs of major international forums — Arctic, Economic and Cultural ones, participation in the New Year Book Salon and city festivals, events organized in cooperation with international institutions of St. Petersburg, the Science Day, Lomonosov Memorial Day and, of course, the Day of Kunstkamera.
