ABSTRACT. The article is devoted to the attribution of objects from the early collections of the MAE RAS. The time when these items entered the museum dates back to the middle of the 18th — first third of the 19th centuries. The fate of these collections is associated with repeated transfers of objects between the collections of various museums. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to restore the names of the collectors and even to detect these items. This article presents the results of work with the collections of Chinese objects transferred to the MAE in 1950 from the State Museum of Oriental Cultures. Based on the data from archival inventories of the MAE RAS and archival lists of items from the Dashkovsky Ethnographic Museum, among the transferred items, it was possible to identify objects that came to the Kunstkamera and the Ethnographic Museum of the Academy of Sciences before the first third of the 19th century, restore the names of the collectors and find out the circumstances of the transfer of items to Moscow in 1865.
